AFL (NSW/ACT) has drawn its 2009 raffle with 14 lucky winners taking out a host of big prizes.
Eastlake Footballer, Matt Williams, took out the major prize, and can now enjoy the 2009 Toyota AFL Grand Final with three of his friends, including flights and accommodation.
In an amazing statistic, 3 of the 14 winners have donned Lions colours this year. Doug Sweeney won a Sydney Cricket & Sportsground Trust package, Scott Dennis receives a signed Hawthorn jumper, and Ryan Woodward takes home a signed Richmond jumper. Thanks to all Lions members and friends who purchased tickets.
In excess of 30,000 tickets were sold by more than 20 clubs across NSW and ACT – with the local footy clubs the real winners, taking away some of the earnings from the raffle.
This is the first time in a number of years that AFL (NSW/ACT) have run a raffle but from the huge response it is anticipated that the raffle with great prizes will be on the agenda again next year , with more clubs involved.
Congratulations to all prize winners and thank you to everyone who supported the raffle by purchasing a ticket.
